District Internal Auditor retires
Maracha District Internal Auditor, Mr. Abiribale Paul, has retired upon hitting the mandatory retirement age, 60.
During the handover function in the District Boardroom, Principal Human Resource Officer, Mr. Mukili Cosmas, commended Mr. Abiribale on this milestone after raising through the ranks from a junior cadre officer. Mr. Mukili said it was hard seeing senior officers more especially at the level of head of department leave service. He cited Ms. Osoa Flavia, former District Education Officer, who retired in May this year after reaching 60 years. He stated replacing senior officers is challenging “It is always difficult to find people in seniority and qualification.”
Mr. Olila Patrick, Maracha District Chief Administrate Officer, thanked Mr. Abiribale for the exemplary service he rendered to the District amidst several resource constraints. Mr. Olila said Mr. Abiribale secured his family by not engaging in irregularities that could abruptly end his career. He said the expertise of Mr. Abiribale can be sought by Council most especially in the District Public Accounts Committee.
Mr. Abiribale in his farewell remarks, called for team spirit and peaceful grievance management mechanisms between and among District stakeholders.
“We should avoid acting on unfounded rumors. We should learn to handle conflicts in a mature way.” He advised.
He said while in service in Yumbe District he almost lost his life when they came under attack by rebels.
Hon. Asea Bosco, Maracha District Vice Chairperson, asked Mr. Abiribale to be a “good ambassador” of the District during retirement. He also requested Mr. Abiribale to be open to offering advice to the District when consulted. Hon. Asea tasked Mr. Mukili to expedite the process to fill the vacancy left following the retirement of Mr. Abiribale.
Ms. Kotevu Monica, Deputy Resident District Commissioner, commended Mr. Abiribale for the good work done. She said misunderstandings are bound in any work environment, the most important thing is how to address them.
Mr. Abiribale joined service in September 1994.
